Online Bicycle Registration

Students who own bicycles on campus are encouraged to obtain a bicycle registration sticker to assist in identifying owners of found, recovered or impounded bicycles. Students can best protect their bikes by either storing them in their room or locking them to bike racks. Locks can be purchased at the SMC Campus Bookstore. In addition, The Dept. of Public Safety provides a safe, dry area for students who wish to store their bicycle for extended periods such as the winter months.
U-bolt.gif (20841 bytes)Bicycles may NOT be stored in:
  • Doorways
  • Hallways
  • Stairwells
  • Lounges
  • Fire escapes
  • Handicap access ramps

Registered bicycles that are improperly stored will be tagged, the owner notified and given the opportunity to move it.  Unregistered bicycles will be removed and impounded by The Dept. of Public Safety. SMC doesn't take responsibility for locks damaged or destroyed in the removal of improperly stored bikes. Impounded bicycles may be recovered at the Department of Public Safety office by providing proof of ownership and/or serial number.  Repeat offenders with registered bicycles are subject to this removal policy. Unregistered bikes held by this office in excess of 90 days may be disposed of.
