After
Kate Colistra graduated from Saint Michael's College in 1998 she
went onto Northeastern University in Boston where she earned a
master of science degree in criminal justice in 2000. Kate then
attended the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology in
Boston where she earned a Psy.D (doctoral program in clinical
psychology) with a specialty in forensic psychology in 2007.
Today Kate is a psychiatric examiner/licensed
psychologist for the New York State Office of Mental Health in the
Division of Forensic Services where she reviews referred records of
identified sex offenders releasing from the New York Department of
Corrections Services. Kate came to campus to speak in Dr. Sharon
Lamb's classes and also spoke with several students from the
Psychology Club and Psi Chi in an informal discussion about her
career path.
