 Welcome
to Psychobabble, the first e-newsletter for the
Department of Psychology at Saint Michael’s College.
Although the study of psychology has been a popular major at the
college since its introduction in 1970,
there have been important changes in
the past two years that have increased both the number of students
entering the major and the accomplishments achieved. We have
established labs that encourage our students
and faculty to study mental and behavioral processes in a controlled
setting. Laboratory facilities are available for the study of
health, relationships, developmental issues, animal behaviors,
substance use and virtual reality. In addition, we have added
faculty positions to address both student demand and curricular
additions. We are proud of our accomplishments and look
forward to the year ahead. We encourage you to join us in our
