The inaugral Sutton Cup took place on September 27, 1998 at the Cedar Knolls Golf Club in Hinesburg, VT. A chance for the Fire and Rescue family to get together, it also featured the first appearance of the Sutton Cup Trophy. Pappy was on hand to oversee the tournament and award the trophy to the winners, Colchester Public Safety. The consolation winner was Tina Wood, from the team of Jay and Tina Wood, Joy Sutton, and Rob Schell.
