The Fire and Rescue Alumni Advisory Council (formerly Board of Advisors) was first established in 1984 to provide advisory guidance to the current membership and ensure the long-term success of Fire and Rescue. At that time, with the approaching retirement of founder Don Sutton, alumni again continued their service to Fire and Rescue and St. Michael’s College. The F&R alumni council meets throughout the year, culminating with an annual meeting during the banquet weekend.
At the Fall 2005 meeting a motion was made to change the name from Alumni Board of Advisors to Alumni Advisory Council. This was done in order to to avoid confusion between the BOA and the newly incorporated Board of Directors. However, this was only a name change and the Alumni Advisory Council retains all the powers allotted to the BOA by the Fire and Rescue constitution.
