Late April 2007, St. Michael's Fire along with the Colchester Center and Mallet's Bay fire departments attended a training burn hosted by the Winooski Fire department. The building was located on Abanaki way in downtown Winooski and had been used as a training building for some time. The first training day consisted of smaller room and contents fire training on the upper level while the second day consisted of thermal layering demonstrations as well as a defensive procedures as the house was burned to the ground.
