EDUCATING FOR JUSTICE

Edmundite Center for Peace and Justice

The Saint Michael's Peace and Justice Center works to engage the Saint Michael's community to explore Peace and Justice issues through an ongoing lecture series, campus events, the Peace and Justice Committee, the Saint Michael's Amnesty International Chapter, and Internet resources. The mission of the Peace and Justice Center is to integrate peace and justice concerns into the everyday life of our college community.

MOVE (Mobilization of Volunteer Efforts)

MOVE helps channel the talents, creativity and energy of the Saint Michael's community into volunteer service programs that enrich our campus, the communities surrounding Saint Michael's and the world. As a component of the Office of Edmundite Campus Ministry at Saint Michael's, MOVE recognizes that service is a distinct part of the Edmundite tradition.

Through MOVE-sponsored activities, volunteers can make a difference to many people in a variety of ways. Throughout the academic year, MOVE core team leaders actively recruit participants in programs that provide opportunities for service. These programs can require as little commitment as several hours of volunteer work or as much as spending a week-long Extended Service Trip in a US city or foreign country. Whatever your interest, there is a MOVE-sponsored program that is right for you!
