Former
Rochester Institute of Technology standout Emily Verbridge was named the
seventh head coach in the history of the Saint Michael’s volleyball
program in July of 2004. She led the Purple Knights to a 6-19 record in
her first season, including a 4-2 record at the Ross Sports Center.
A 2002 graduate of RIT, Verbridge guided the Tigers to a 117-45 record
during her stellar four-year career. RIT's Senior Female Athlete of the
Year in 2002, Verbridge set the program's single-season mark with 730
kills in 2001, and finished her career with the highest kill-per-game
average in team history.
An AVCA All-New York Region selection, Verbridge ended her career
holding seven school records. She was a six-time Tournament MVP, a
five-time Rochester Area College Athlete of the Week and a two-time
Empire 8 All-Conference selection.
A native of Williamson, New York, Verbridge earned a bachelor’s degree
in biology and was a five-time Dean’s List selection at RIT. She
currently works at Howard Community Services in Burlington.
