Franklin Pierce women's tennis suffered a 9-0 loss to Saint Michael’s in a
home Northeast-10 Conference match this afternoon.
Shannon Bergin
(Milford, Conn./Lauralton Hall)
and Cailie Burns (Chepachet, R.I./Ponaganset) led the way for the
Purple Knights as they were victorious at #1 doubles and #1 and #2
singles. In doubles action, the pair defeated
Kate Edmonds (Concord, N.H./Concord)
and Carol Pennamacoor (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs)
8-1.
In singles play, Bergin
defeated Edmonds 6-0, 6-0 and Burns defeated Pennamacoor 6-3, 6-3.
Franklin Pierce (2-16, 2-8
NE-10) will end the 2004 regular season on the road against Bryant. Saint
Michael’s (8-3, 8-3 NE-10) closed out the regular season today against the
Ravens.
