PIEKARSKI, HALLISEY LIFT WOMEN'S LAX TO 11-8 WIN FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                                               FOR MORE INFORMATION April 5, 2004                                                                                       Contact: Seth Cole Courtesy Saint Anselm Sports Information                                            Phone: (802) 654-2537 Manchester, N.H. — Freshman Lauren Glancy (Scituate, Mass./ Scituate) scored six goals against Saint Michael’s, but it was not enough to overcome a Purple Knights’ attack that was on the mark with 11-of-16 shots on goal.  The visitors came away with an 11-8 victory in Northeast-10 Conference action on Monday at Melucci Field. Lauren Piekarski (East Sandwich, Mass.) opened the scoring in the eighth minute with the first of her three goals.  She followed that up with another nine minutes later to give Saint Michael’s (4-3, 3-0 NE-10) a cushion before Glancy tallied her first marker at the 17:42 mark to cut the deficit to 2-1.  Kendra LaFauci (North Andover, Mass.) and Kate Hallisey (West Roxbury, Mass.) each scored over the next four minutes to give the Purple Knights a lead they would never relinquish.  Neither squad could get into a rhythm as the teams matched each other nearly goal-for-goal the rest of the way. Amanda Considine (Littleton, N.H./ Littleton) and Caroline Gooding (Braintree, Mass./ Thayer Academy) each added a goal and two assists for the Hawks (2-3, 2-3 NE-10).  Piekarski notched three goals and an assist for Saint Michael’s, and Hallisey also netted the hat trick.
