            HALLISEY, LAFAUCI LEAD PURPLE KNIGHTS TO 17-6 VICTORY

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Junior Kate Hallisey (West Roxbury, Mass./Brookline) totaled four goals and one assist and freshman Kenrda LaFauci (North Andover, Mass./North Andover) added three goals and one assist to lead Saint Michael's College to a 17-6 victory over Southern New Hampshire University here today in Northeast-10 Conference women's lacrosse action.  Saint Michael's remained unbeaten in league play at 4-0 and improved to 5-4 overall.  SNHU, which is in its first season as a varsity program, dropped to 0-5 overall (0-5 NE-10).

Saint Michael's opened up an early 6-2 lead, before the host Penmen cut the lead to 6-3 following a goal by senior Kristen King (Berlin, N.H.) with 21:01 left in the first half.  The Purple Knights closed out the half with six unanswered goals and took a 12-6 lead into the break.  Saint Michael's scored three times in the first eight minutes of the second half and opened up a 15-3 lead following and unassisted goal by freshman Lauren Putnam (Thompson, Conn./Marianapolis Prep School) with 21:46 to play.

Freshman Megan Rule (Bow, N.H./Bow) helped the Saint Michael's cause with three goals, while sophomore Kristen Palazzo (Armonk, N.Y./Byram Hills) and freshman Megan Lagasse (Newburyport, Mass./Governor Dummer Academy) both netted two goals.  Sophomore Stephanie O'Neil (Bristol, Conn.) and freshman Mary Ordemann (Jefferson, N.J.) both totaled a goal and an assist for SNHU.

Junior Jess Anderson (Springfield, Vt./Springfield) stopped six shots for the Purple Knights, while, sophomore Lisa McEachern (Scituate, Mass.) went the distance in net for the Penmen and made seven saves.

SNHU returns to action Monday (4/12) when it hosts Franklin Pierce College in a league game at 4 p.m.  The Purple Knights host Merrimack College in a NE-10 game Saturday (4/10).
