PURPLE KNIGHTS LOSE LEAD, FALL TO SAINT ANSELM

Courtesy Saint Anselm Sports Information Phone: (802) 654-2537MANCHESTER, N.H. - Molly Dullea (Longmeadow, Mass.) hit five-of-six free throws in the final two minutes to seal the victory for the Hawks in a 65-60 comeback win over Saint Michael's in Northeast-10 Conference action on Monday.
Saint Anselm (8-8, 7-6 NE-10) dug themselves a 14-point hole, falling behind 23-9 with 7:51 remaining in the first half, but went on a 31-12 run over the next 11:21 to take a five point lead 40-35. The Purple Knights (5-10, 2-10 NE-10) would tie the game twice in the next four minutes, but never led again.
Sophomore Raenielle Decastro-Cain (Manchester, Conn.), playing for the first time since December 3, had an outstanding night in pacing the Hawks. She shot 7-for-12 (58.3-percent) from the floor and hit a perfect 4-of-4 from the line to pour in 18 points. She also pulled down eight total rebounds, five at the offensive end.
Saint Anselm improved to 4-0 when out-rebounding the opponent this season, snagging a 50-36 advantage for the night. Senior Jen Carson (Townsend, Mass.) played a big part in the difference, gathering in a career-high 19 boards, which ties her with Janine Fronczek for the ninth highest single-game total in school history. She also added seven points.
