The 48 points were the fewest surrendered by the Purple Knights since a 56-34 win over Bloomfield College on Nov. 19, 2000.
Four players posted double digits in points for Saint Michael’s, led by Brigid Hegarty’s (North Andover, Mass./Central Catholic) 15, which came along with six assists. Senior Lindsey Bradt (Albany, N.Y./Hudson Valley CC) collected 11 points and rebounds each, freshman Jevy Rayner (Westminster, Vt./Bellows Falls Union) had 14 points, seven boards, and two blocks, and senior Erica Kensey (Bow, N.H./Bow) notched 10 points. Sophomore Holly Reeves (Arlington, Mass./Arlington Catholic) added five assists for Saint Michael’s, which collected 19 assists and only eight turnovers.
As a team, the Purple Knights shot 14-of-15 from the charity stripe – including 11-of-12 in the second half – as they built upon a 35-22 halftime lead. They ended up shooting 46.3 percent from the field on the evening (25-of-54). Concordia helped fall into that hole with 2-of-10 first-half free throw shooting and 31.5 percent shooting from the field during the game.
Sarah Liebelt led the Clippers with 16 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Katie Reynolds (12 points) and Tiffany Daley (11 points) also placed in double figures.
The Purple Knights improve to 2-0, with both wins coming away from the Ross Sports Center. Their road swing continues on Saturday in Lodi, N.J., at 1 p.m. at Felician College and Tuesday at Southern Connecticut State University. They open their home season on Sunday, Nov. 30, against American International College.
