SMITHFIELD, R.I.  -- The Bryant College women's basketball team made 12 three-pointers, one shy of a school record, and got 21 points from junior guard Dede Fogarty (Middletown, Conn.) as the Bulldogs rolled to an easy 96-48 win over visiting Saint Michael's here Saturday.  With the win, Bryant improves to 15-4 overall and 12-2 in the Northeast-10, while Saint Michael's, led by freshman Jevy Rayner's (Westminster, Vt./Bellows Falls Union) 10 points, drops to 6-11 (3-11 NE-10).

Bryant opened the game on fire from the field. Six of the team's first eight baskets were three-pointers as Bryant raced out to a 19-10 lead in the first seven minutes and never looked back.  The score quickly reached 31-12 following a layup by Fogarty with 8:09 left in the first half and the lead quickly grew to 38-19 on a deep three by Mary McConnell (Pawtucket, R.I.).

Bryant led 49-27 at the half, thanks to 9 of 13 shooting from three and 46 percent shooting from the floor. In the second half, Bryant was never threatened as Saint Michael's could not stop the outside game of the Bulldogs as Bryant finished shooting 45 percent from the floor and emptied its bench early.

Fogarty finished the game shooting 6 for 10 including a career-best 5 for 8 from three-point range. She also had eight rebounds and four assists.  Five players reached double figures for Bryant with Joanna Skiba (Providence, RI) and Kellie Fournier (Westport, Mass.) scoring 16 each and Lindsay Hermann (Bristol, Conn.) and McConnell adding ten points. Saint Michael's shot just 29.6 percent from the floor and turned the ball over 26 times in the game.

The school record for three's in a game is 13 against Franklin Pierce in 2001 as the Bulldogs finished the afternoon shooting 60.0 percent from three-point land (12 of 20).

Bryant hosts Saint Anselm College on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Saint Michael's looks to bounce back on Wednesday, as the Purple Knights host Assumption College at 5:30 p.m. at the Ross Sports Center.
