SAINT MICHAEL'S BLANKS AIC FOR FIRST WIN OF SEASON

Courtesy AIC Sports Information Phone: (802) 654-2537SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore Brandon Kobelt (New York, N.Y./Fordham Prep) and junior Ryan Lynn (New Canaan, Conn./Kent) each had four goals and two assists to lead Saint Michael’s College to an 18-0 victory over American International College in men’s lacrosse action Friday afternoon at John Homer Miller Field. The Purple Knights even their record at 1-1 and 1-0 in the Northeast-10, while it was the season opener for the Yellow Jackets.
Junior Mike Curley (W. Hartford, Conn./Conard) had three goals for Saint Michael’s while junior Nick Calnen (W. Hartford, Conn./Conard), sophomore Tristan Bandoni (Walpole, Mass./Walpole) and sophomore Brady Boyle (South Dennis, Mass./Kimball Union Academy) each had a pair of goals. Calnen also had three assists.
Adam Slys (Pembroke, Mass.) made a total of 37 saves in goal for AIC, while SMC’s Brian Hingston (Concord, Mass./Concord-Carlisle) and Robert McCarthy (Milton, Mass./Xaverian Brothers) combined for nine saves en route to the shutout.
AIC is slated to return to action Monday, March 29 when it hosts nationally-ranked Bentley at 3:00 at John Homer Miller Field. Saint Michael's returns to action on Sunday with a 12 p.m. contest versus eighth-ranked Adelphi University at Middlebury College.
