Duffy made it a two-goal cushion at the 10:15 mark on assists from sophomore forward Alex Watts (Cheshire, Conn./Berkshire School) and senior forward Justin Quenneville (Montreal, Quebec/Stanstead College).
Stonehill cut the lead in half at 15:18 on Pollara’s first of the game, a power play marker. Williams’ second career goal helped Saint Michael’s regain its two-goal lead with 42 seconds left in the period.
Stonehill struck first in the second stanza when Pollara netted his second of the game on assists from freshman Ryan Bouchard (Arundel, Maine) and senior Will O’Connell (Quincy, Mass.). The hosts again increased their lead to two with 12:55 to go in the period when Watts sent Duffy in on a breakaway for his second goal of the game.
