BRUNSWICK, Maine The Bowdoin men’s ice hockey team notched a win as they defeated Saint Michael’s 11-0 on Friday evening. Hat tricks by Adam Dann, Shannon McNevan, and Ged Wieschhoff carried the Polar Bears as Bowdoin improves to 12-5-0 and 9-4-0 in the NESCAC. Less than a minute into the game, Dann slid the puck past the right skate of the Saint Michael’s goalie to put the Polar Bears up early. Nate Riddell assisted Dann on the goal. Wieschhoff netted the second goal as he touched in the pass from Bobby Cavanagh.  Tim McVaugh was also credited with the assist. Dann struck again as he put the puck through the five-hole of the Saint Michael’s goalie. Dann received an outlet pass from Mike Chute on the score and Bryan Ciborowski also assisted on the play. Bowdoin extended their lead to four as McNevan netted a shot just outside of the crease. Both Ian Hanley and Greg McConnell had assists on the play.

Early in the second period, McNevan took the pass from Hanley and put in a wrist shot over the glove of the Saint Michael’s goalie. McConnell was also credited with an assist on the goal.  Dann completed the hat trick as he scored in an unassisted effort. Wieschhoff went top shelf for Bowdoin’s seventh goal with help from McVaugh and Mike Stevens, who earned assists on the play.
