EASTON, Mass. – Freshman Cassie Dewey (Lebanon, N.H./Mount Saint Mary's) scored the game-winning goal for the second consecutive game as No. 9 Saint Michael's College edged No. 10 Stonehill College, 2-1, in a key Northeast-10 Conference matchup on Monday at Gorman Field.

Dewey's winning tally came with 5:20 remaining in regulation, as she converted a pass from senior Jenn Gray (Skowhegan, Maine/Skowhegan Area) off of a penalty corner. Dewey now has two goals in her career, both game-winning tallies in the last three days. Gray, meanwhile, added to her school record with her 27th career assist.

The Chieftains opened the scoring just 2:57 into the contest, as sophomore Julie Michalos (Norwood, Mass.) put one past Purple Knights' goalkeeper Tamsen Hunter (Center Tuftonboro, N.H./Kingswood Regional). Saint Michael's tied the game with just one second left in the opening half, as sophomore Nikki Pickman (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) swatted home a loose ball for an unassisted goal.

Hunter recorded her third victory of the season for the Purple Knights, stopping six shots. Freshman Megan Kendall (Norwich, Conn.) recorded three saves for Stonehill (10-6 overall, 7-5 NE-10), which saw its five-game winning streak come to an end.

Saint Michael's (9-6, 8-5), which recorded a season sweep of the Chieftains with today's victory, heads to Worcester, Mass., on Saturday for a game against Assumption College before hosting Merrimack College on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 3 p.m. at Doc Jacobs Field.
