WORCESTER, Mass. - Saint Michael's College scored all its goals in the first 45 minutes and cruised to a 3-0 victory versus Assumption College in Northeast-10 Conference field hockey action on Saturday.

The Purple Knights opened the scoring just 2:40 into the contest, as senior Michelle Patts (Duxbury, Mass./Duxbury) tallied her seventh goal of the season. Saint Michael's doubled its lead before intermission, with senior Jenn Gray (Skowhegan, Maine/Skowhegan Area) connecting off of a pass from classmate Jilby Danis (Burlington, Vt./Rice Memorial).

The final tally came 10 minutes into the second period, as senior Jessica Simmons (Bethlehem, N.H./Profile) notched an unassisted goal.

Junior Jess Anderson (Springfield, Vt./Springfield) stopped three shots, all in the first half, to record her third shutout of the season for the Purple Knights. Junior Colleen Haughey (Valhalla, N.Y.) turned aside seven shots for Assumption (7-9 overall, 5-8 NE-10).

Saint Michael's (10-6, 9-5) looks to extend its three-game winning streak on Wednesday with a home contest versus conference-rival Merrimack College at 3 p.m. at Doc Jacobs Field.
