SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Seniors Jessica Simmons (Bethlehem, N.H./Profile) and Jilby Danis (Burlington, Vt./Rice Memorial) tallied a goal and an assist apiece as St. Michael's College recorded its first conference victory of the season, a 4-0 shutout versus American International College on Tuesday.

Danis opened the scoring for the Purple Knights with her team-leading fifth goal of the season in the 18th minute off an assist from classmate Jenn Gray (Skowhegan, Me./Skowhegan). After Simmons' tally gave St. Michael's a 2-0 lead, her assist led to a goal by senior Michelle Patts (Duxbury, Mass./Duxbury). The Purple Knights completed the scoring with 1:04 remaining in the first half, as freshman Ashley Webb (Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) scored her first career goal.

Junior Jess Anderson (Springfield, Vt./Springfield) earned the shutout in goal by stopping five shots. Megan Trystman turned aside 11 shots for the Yellow Jackets.

St. Michael's (2-3-0 overall, 1-2-0 NE-10) returns to action on Saturday with a conference matchup against Stonehil at 12 p.m. at the Doc Jacobs Field.
