WALTHAM , Mass. ---  Junior Kate Hallisey (W. Roxbury, Mass.) scored five goals and senior Amanda Lohin (Wellesley, Mass.) tallied four to lead the Saint Michael's College women's lacrosse team to a 11-5 win over Bentley College on Sunday.

The win is the second straight NE-10 victory for the Purple Knights who are 2-2 overall after a non-conference loss to St. Lawrence a few days earlier. Bentley falls to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the NE-10.

Neither team could get their offenses clicking in the first half with both goalies playing well. Bentley’s Monica Rose (Westfield, Mass.) made nine saves in the first half, and Saint Michael’s Jess Anderson ( Springfield , Vt. ) made five in the first for the visitors.

The Purple Knights had the scoring edge in the first half 2-1, with goals from Lohin and Hallisey. Lohin finished the game with four scores. Freshman Ashley Coombes ( Simsbury , Conn. ) had the lone goal for the Falcons.

In the second half, the Purple Knights offense took control of the game with a 6-0 spurt to start the final stanza. Hallisey led the second half charge with four goals in the second half. Lohin had three of her four goals in the second.

Bentley attempted to climb back into the contest late in the half as sophomore Shandra Bacher ( Concord , N.H.) netted three goals, but SMC freshmen Amaris Pawlowski (Morris, Conn.) and Kristen Palazzo (Armonk, N.Y.) each scored to seal the win for the Purple Knights.

Saint Michael’s is scheduled to host Saint Anselm on Tuesday, April 8.
