WOMEN'S LACROSSE LOSES FOURTH STRAIGHT TO UVM

BURLINGTON, Vermont – Senior tri-captain Courtney LaMere (Baldwinsville, NY/CW Baker) scored five goals as the UVM women's lacrosse team moved to 3-0 on the season with a 16-7 win over crosstown rival Saint Michael's Wednesday at Centennial Field.

LaMere moved into seventh place all-time with her five goals, giving her 13 for the season and 66 for her career. She is also seventh all-time in career points with 81.

Vermont took a 5-0 lead in the first half as LaMere scored three times. The Cats led, 10-3 at the half, and withstood a Purple Knight rally in the second half.

Mackenzie Dean (Annapolis, MD), Vanessa Cox (Newton, MA), Molly Sheehan (Salisbury, VT) and Kate Parker (Stowe, VT) each scored two goals for the Catamounts, while Dean added two assists and Courtney Keefe (Essex Junction, VT) had a goal and two assists. Corinna Noering (Cohasset, MA) and Westy LeMaistre (Freeport, ME) also scored for Vermont.

Saint Michael's, 2-4, got three goals from Kate Hallisey (West Roxbury, MA) and two goals and three assists from Amanda Lohin (Wellesley, MA). Erin Redmond (East Montpelier, VT) and Alexa Huckins-Noss (Calais, VT) also scored for the Purple Knights.

In goal, Vermont’s Kate McBride made 11 saves, while Jess Anderson stopped nine for Saint Michael's.

Vermont opens the America East season Friday at 2:00pm when it hosts New Hampshire at Centennial Field.
