PURPLE KNIGHTS EXTEND WIN STREAK TO SIX GAMES
Lynn Leads SMC Past Norwich

NORTHFIELD, Vt.- Sophomore attackman Ryan Lynn (New Canaan, CT) scored four goals and added two assists as visiting Saint Michael's College rolled to a 15-5 win over Norwich University in a non-conference men's lacrosse game on Howard Field on Thursday.

Saint Michael's grabbed a 5-0 lead after the first quarter, and led 10-1 at the half.

Sophomore Michael Curley (West Hartford, CT) netted a goal and three assists for the Purple Knights, with Bryan Barletto (Liverpool, NY) scoring three goals, while Nate Seigler (Brownsville, VT) tallied two goals and two assists. Brendan Greely (Amherst, MA) stopped 11 shots.

Saint Michael's out shot the Cadets 52-26.

Nick Bishop (Webster, NY) and Nick Dolpp (Williamsville, NY) each scored two goals for Norwich. Jesse Roy (East Middlebury, VT) had one goal and two assists. Senior goalie Mike Gioia (Talbott, TN) turned in an outstanding 23-save effort for the Cadets in the loss.

Norwich falls to 3-9 on the season. The Cadets will play their final game of the 2003 season on Saturday, hosting Wheaton College in a Pilgrim League game at 1:00 p.m. on Howard Field.

Saint Michael's improved to 9-3 on the year and travels to Bryant College on Saturday.
