SMITHFIELD, R.I. — Junior attackman Jon Yuengling (Merrick, N.Y.) scored five goals, including three as part of Bryant’s 10-goal run to open the game, as the No. 7-ranked Bulldogs rolled to a 26-5 win against Saint Michael’s Saturday afternoon at Bulldog Stadium.

Playing in their final regular-season home game of the year, the Bulldogs overwhelmed the visitors from the opening face-off. Bryant scored the first 10 goals of the game and outshot Saint Michael’s by a 16-3 margin in the first 15 minutes. The Bulldogs finished with a 58-18 advantage in shots, won 20 of 32 face-offs and converted 4 of 7 extra-man opportunities. Thirteen different players registered at least one point for the Bulldogs, who had 12 different goal scorers.

Bryant’s starting attack unit of Yuengling, senior Kevin Barletta (Mahopac, N.Y.) and senior Ryan Knope (Rochester, N.Y.) combined for 10 goals and eight assists on the day.

Yuengling staked Bryant to a 2-0 lead with a pair of goals in the first 1:50 of play, and he picked up a hat trick with 2:54 left in the first quarter to give Bryant a 9-0 lead. Chris Pisciotta (Floral Park, N.Y.) struck with 2:28 left to give the Bulldogs a 10-0 lead before Saint Michael’s got a goal from Sean Dacey (Penfield, N.Y.) with 11 seconds left in the quarter to end the run.

Bryant poured on eight more goals in the second half, including three extra-man goals, and went into halftime with an 18-2 lead.

Yuengling, who also had three assists on the afternoon, finished with eight points to lead all scorers and improve his season totals to 52 goals, 26 assists and 78 points. Junior attackman Jeff Raggi (Penfield, N.Y.) had seven points on four goals and three assists, while Barletta had four goals and Jedd Storoshenko (Bay Shore, N.Y.) had three. Knope finished with a team-high five assists, giving him 42 helpers on the year. Greg Horowitz (Yorktown, N.Y.) played the first half in goal and was credited with the win after making just three saves. Bryant improved to 11-4 overall, while the Bulldogs finish the Northeast-10 Conference regular season at 8-2 in the league.

Saint Michael’s got two goals from attackman Eric Libby (Cohasset, Mass.). Goalie Brian Hingston (Concord, Mass.) had 19 saves for the Purple Knights, who fell to 9-4 overall and finished 6-4 in the NE-10.
