COLCHESTER, Vt. – In the second day of tournament action, the College of Saint Rose defeated the Golden Falcons of Felician College, 95-75, on Saturday at the Ross Sports Center.

The Golden Knights came out strong and made 7-of-10 field goal attempts in the first six minutes of the game. Saint Rose went 21-for-27 from the line for the evening, and received 19 points and 10 rebounds from senior Jesse Cort (Red Hook, N.Y./Red Hook). Junior Terry George (Buffalo, N.Y./Buffalo Traditional) posted 17 points and Kyl Jones (Elmsford, N.Y./Pleasantville) scored 12 points and had three blocks.

At the half, Felician trailed by only five, 47-42. With a little over 16 minutes in the second half, the Golden Falcons were down 56-46. With 9:53 left in the game, a pair of three-point baskets from Felician senior Ivan Lewis (Monticello, N.Y.) and a lone three-pointer from sophomore Sadot Williams (Irvington, N.J.,) evened the score at 63-all.

However, the Golden Falcons’ never led in the second half of play, while Saint Rose shot 14-for-18 from the foul line and scored 10 points on fast breaks. On the losing side, senior Jerrell Jeffries (Newark, N.J.) had 13 rebounds and went 9-of-13 from the field, posting a game-high 20 points. Sadot Williams ended the night with 16 points and three assists.
