COLCHESTER, Vt. - A pair of Saint Michael's College divers won weekly awards from the Northeast-10 Conference on Monday, while three other Purple Knights were named to the weekly honor roll.

Junior Michael DeGrandpre (Freeport, Maine/Freeport) was named the NE-10's Men's Diving Athlete of the Week. He won both one-meter diving competitions in Saturday's 126-92 victory versus Colby-Sawyer College, totaling 331.60 points to win by a combined 44.05 points. Freshman Tierney Carey (Newtown, Conn./Newtown), meanwhile, was named the NE-10's Women's Diving Athlete of the Week. In her collegiate debut, she won one of the two-one-meter diving events in a 127-114 setback to Colby-Sawyer, and finished third in the other.

Named to the conference's weekly honor roll were swimmers Mike Kaas (West Haven, Conn./Notre Dame) and Stephanie Hammer (Billings, Mont./Billings West) and men's ice hockey sophomore Tim Dancey (Anaheim, Calif./Berkshire School). Kaas, a sophomore, won the 100-yard individual medley and swam a leg of the victorious 200-yard freestyle relay team on Saturday, while Hammer, a freshman, won for the second straight week in both the 1,000- and 500-yard freestyle. Dancey, meanwhile, tallied two even-strength goals and an assist in Saturday's 5-4 season-opening loss to Stonehill College.
