PURPLE KNIGHTS FALL TO PACE, 3-0

Phone: (802) 654-2537COLCHESTER, Vt. – Saint Michael’s College dropped its first home match of the season on Saturday, falling to Pace University, 3-0 (28-30, 22-30, 18-30), in Northeast-10 Conference volleyball action at the Ross Sports Center. Pace improves to 4-11 overall (4-5 NE-10), while Saint Michael’s (5-12, 3-7 NE-10) falls to 4-1 at home this season.
For the Setters, junior Maja Iljic (Brcko, Yugoslavia) tallied a match-high 15 kills, 12 service aces and 17 digs, while senior KC Neill (Scottsdale, Ariz.) added 10 kills and two solo blocks.
For the Purple Knights, junior Katie Ouellette (Hampton, N.H./Winnacunnet) notched a team-high 11 kills, and added one solo block and two assisted blocks. Senior Lindsey Shumway (Scotia, N.Y./Burnt Hills) and junior Kaitlyn Rae (Wilbraham, Mass./Minnechaug Regional) added six kills and seven digs apiece, while junior Jess Mulroy (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) handed out 26 assists.
Saint Michael’s takes part at the American International College Tournament Oct. 22-23 before hosting its final match of the season versus Middlebury College on Oct. 26 at 6 p.m.
