COLCHESTER, Vt. – Senior Lindsey Shumway (Scotia, N.Y./Burnt Hills) tallied a match-high 13 kills as Saint Michael’s College blanked Southern Connecticut State University, 3-0 (30-26, 30-27, 30-27), in Northeast-10 Conference volleyball action on Friday at the Ross Sports Center. Saint Michael’s (5-11, 3-6 NE-10) improves its perfect home record to 4-0, while Southern Connecticut (2-12, 0-8 NE-10) lost its third straight match.

For the Purple Knights, junior Katie Ouellette (Hampton, N.H./Winnacunnet) notched seven kills and three solo blocks, while senior Stephanie Robbins (Ballston Lake, N.Y./Burnt Hills) chipped in seven kills and a team-high 10 digs. Junior Jess Mulroy (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) recorded a match-high 35 assists in the win.

For the Owls, senior Rachel Pitino (Wolcott, Conn.) posted a team-high 10 kills, while classmate Jess Hernandez (Milford, Conn.) handed out 22 assists. Senior Lauren Pasquariello (East Haven, Conn.) added six kills, six digs and four solo blocks for the visitors.

Saint Michael’s returns to action on Saturday versus league-rival Pace University at 12 p.m. at the Ross Sports Center.
