COLCHESTER, Vt. – Sophomore Mary Lyon (Pittsfield, Mass./Taconic) and freshman Lindsey Cutts (Kittery Point, Maine/Traip Academy) each tallied hat tricks as Saint Michael’s College cruised to a 12-0 victory versus Johnson State College in women’s soccer action on Wednesday at Doc Jacobs Field. The win was the 50th for Marcel Choquette in his head coaching career for the Purple Knights, as the sixth-year coach moves within two of matching the program record, set by Azzie Azagoh Kouadio from 1988-96.

For the Purple Knights, freshman Kelly Boulter (Norfolk, Mass./King Philip Regional) recorded two goals and two assists, while sophomore Charlotte Dzerkacz (Maynard, Mass./Maynard) and freshman Colleen Flynn (Wayland, Mass./Wayland) added a pair of assists. Also scoring goals for Saint Michael’s were seniors Devin Camerlengo (South Burlington, Vt./South Burlington) and Karyn Sporer (Southborough, Mass./Marian), sophomore Melissa Fouhy (Schenectady, N.Y./Guilderland Central), and freshman Courtney Delurey (Hoosick Falls, N.Y./Hoosick Falls).

Freshmen Molly Cole (Dover, N.H./Dover) and Laura Tuveson (Norfolk, Mass./King Philip Regional) each played one half in goal for Saint Michael’s (6-5-2), and did not face a shot.

Junior Jacqueline Brennan (Old Lyme, Conn.) stopped seven shots for Johnson State (5-5-1), who was forced to start the game with just 10 players due to injuries.

Saint Michael’s dictated play from the outset, as the Purple Knights scored four times in the first 13:31 to take control. Boulter scored both her goals in the first half, including the eventual game-winner, as 13 players recorded a point for the hosts.

Saint Michael’s returns to Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday, as the Purple Knights host Saint Anselm College at 1 p.m.
