VOLLEYBALL RALLIES PAST ASSUMPTION, AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                                      FOR MORE INFORMATION October 2, 2004                                                                         Contact: Seth Cole                                                                                                 Phone: (802) 654-2537 COLCHESTER, Vt. – Saint Michael’s College increased its winning streak to three matches with a sweep of Assumption College and American International College in Northeast-10 Conference volleyball action on Saturday at the Ross Sports Center. The Purple Knights rallied past the Greyhounds in the opener, 3-2 (27-30, 30-12, 30-23, 28-30, 15-12), and defeated the Yellow Jackets in the nightcap, 3-1 (19-30, 30-17, 30-25, 30-16). In the first match, junior Kaitlyn Rae (Wilbraham, Mass./Minnechaug Regional) notched 15 kills and a match-high 20 digs and seven service aces. Senior Lindsey Shumway (Scotia, N.Y./Burnt Hills) tallied a match-high 18 kills, while freshman Leslie Herwig (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston) added 14 kills and three solo blocks. Junior Jess Mulroy (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) recorded 52 assists for Saint Michael’s (4-10, 2-5 NE-10). For the Greyhounds, junior Lindy Dhulst (Portland, Ore.) posted 10 digs and 39 assists, while classmate Tess Wurm (New Bedford, Mass.) added 15 kills. Freshman Lauren Raswyck (Litchfield, N.H.) tallied 14 digs for Assumption (1-12, 0-7). In the second match, junior Katie Ouellette (Hampton, N.H./Winnacunnet) registered a team-high 12 kills and two solo blocks. Rae and Shumway notched 11 kills apiece, with Rae recording a match-high 22 digs and seven service aces. Mulroy chipped in with 46 assists and 12 digs in the victory.    For American International (2-11, 1-5), sophomore Krystle Neves (North Quincy, Mass.) tallied a match-high 16 kills.
