Phone: (802) 654-2537Manchester, N.H. - The Saint Anselm volleyball team capitalized on 20 aces to defeat visiting Saint Michael's Tuesday evening, 3-0. The game scores were 30-23, 30-24, 30-24.
The Hawks (3-8, 3-4 NE-10) were led by sophomore Alana McNeil (Lawrence, Mass.) who posted 10 kills. Kathleen McCarthy (Quincy, Mass.) added a season-high 35 assists. Defensively, the Hawks were led by Carley Hughey (Cheshire, Conn.) who tallied 15 digs, while freshman libero Sam Regan (Danville, N.H.) logged 14.
The Purple Knights (0-5, 0-4 NE-10). were led by Kaitlyn Rae (Wilbraham, Mass.) who had a season-high 17 kills and two aces. Jessica Mulroy (Marcellus, N.Y.) added a season-high 31 assists and four aces to the effort. Stephanie Smetana (Independence, Mo.) tallied 11 kills.
Saint Anselm travels to C.W. Post on Saturday for a non-conference match at noon. Saint Michael's hits the road on Saturday traveling to Stonehill for a 2:00 p.m. match.
