Saint Michael’s improves to 3-0 with the win (2-0 Northeast-10 Conference). Recording 6-0, 6-0 singles victories were senior Shannon Bergin (Milford, Conn./Lauralton Hall), junior Heidi Murphy (Norfolk, Mass./King Philip Regional), sophomore Cara Bednar (Marblehead, Mass./Marblehead) and freshmen Michelle Wood (Chatham, N.Y./Chatham) and Danielle Gagnon (Gorham, Maine/McAuley). Freshman Megan Conway (Lynnfield, Mass.) earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles, while sophomore Liz Clemente (Latham, N.Y./Academy of the Holy Names) partnered with Bednar for an 8-0 victory in No. 3 doubles. Saint Michael’s plays two more matches in its fall season, at league rivals Pace University and Bryant University on Oct. 9 and 10, respectively, before resuming their schedule in March.
