Phone: (802) 654-2537COLCHESTER, Vt. – Saint Michael’s College won its second straight match on Thursday, cruising past Lyndon State College, 9-0, in women’s tennis action on the outdoor courts. Saint Michael’s improves to 2-1, while Lyndon State falls to 1-4.
Winning in both singles and doubles for Saint Michael’s were: senior Heidi Murphy (Norfolk, Mass./King Philip Regional), junior Cara Bednar (Marblehead, Mass./Marblehead), and sophomore Danielle Gagnon (Gorham, Maine/Catherine McAuley). Two matches were won as a result of forfeit, as Lyndon State had just five eligible players.
Saint Michael’s returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 1, as the Purple Knights host Northeast-10 Conference rival Merrimack College at 2 p.m. Lyndon State next plays at Green Mountain College on Sunday at 2 p.m.
