COLCHESTER, Vt. – The Saint Michael's College (2-6-0, 0-5 NE-10) women’s soccer team suffered its second 1-0 defeat in three games on Wednesday, this time by the hands of the College of Saint Rose (5-1-1, 2-1-1 NE-10) at Duffy Field at the Doc Jacobs Complex.

After a scoreless first half, the Golden Knights scored the game winner during the 68^th minute when freshman Sami Brown (Richland, WA/Hanford) received a feed from classmate Kailey Egbert (Camp Hill, PA/Trinity), to score her team leading fourth goal. Sophomore goaltender Lauren Steinberg (Hopewell Junction, NY/John Jay) turned away all three shots she faced en route to her third shutout of the season.

Gillian Goldman (Stratham, N.H./ Exeter) made four saves, while fellow sophomore Molly Cole (Dover, N.H./ Dover) recorded one for the Purple Knights, who can attribute four of their six losses this season by one goal.

Saint Michael’s will return to action on Saturday, as it travels to Smithfield, R.I. to take on the Bryant University Bulldogs at 10 a.m.
