COLCHESTER, Vt. – A pair of Saint Michael's College tennis players earned weekly honors from the Northeast-10 Conference on Monday, while 12 other Purple Knights landed on the league's weekly honor roll.

In women's tennis, junior Cailie Burns (Chepachet, R.I./Ponaganset) was named Player of the Week, as she led Saint Michael's to a 5-4 win at Le Moyne College on Sunday by posting victories in both No. 3 singles and No. 3 doubles. She also notched a doubles win in Saturday's 6-3 loss to Bentley College.

In men's tennis, John Lescure (Kennebunk, Maine/Kennebunk) earned Co-Freshman of the Week honors. He helped the Purple Knights open the year with a 6-3 win at Le Moyne on Sunday, as he posted victories at both No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles.

Among the 12 Purple Knights named to the conference's weekly honor roll were three men's soccer players. Senior Patrick Melvin (Belmont, Vt./Black River) recorded a pair of shutouts last week, as he stopped two shots in both Wednesday's 3-0 win at Johnson State College and Saturday's 3-0 blanking of Assumption College. Junior Glenn Sherman (Arlington, Vt./Arlington Memorial) scored two goals, including the game-winner, versus Assumption, while sophomore Yoshikazu Ishii (Tokyo, Japan) had two goals and two assists last week, including the game-winner on Wednesday.

In field hockey, juniors Lindsay Harrison (Brandon, Vt./Otter Valley Union) and Tina Nardi (Rupert, Vt./Salem Central) received recognition. Harrison scored her first two goals of the season in Wednesday's 4-1 win at Franklin Pierce College, and added another goal in Saturday's 4-2 triumph at 10th-ranked Bryant University. Nardi, meanwhile, notched victories in both contests, stopping eight shots against Bryant and one versus Franklin Pierce.

In men's tennis, sophomore Torr Terranova (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) and freshman Dmitri Repnikov (South Burlington, Vt./South Burlington) earned honors. Both won twice in Sunday's victory at Le Moyne, handing Kevin Lizzo '02 the win in his head coaching debut.

Two cross country seniors were chosen following their performance at Saturday's Panther Invitational, hosted by Middlebury College. Paul Wagner (Woods Hole, Mass./Suffield Academy) led the men to a third-place finish by placing fourth overall, while Kim Fahner (Westminster, Vt./Vermont Academy) helped the women finish in fifth place by running a team-leading 16th.

In women's tennis, sophomore Megan Conway (Lynnfield, Mass./Lynnfield) was recognized, as she posted a three-set win and a doubles victory in Sunday's triumph at Le Moyne. She also notched a straight-set singles win against Bentley.

In volleyball, senior Kaitlyn Rae (Wilbraham, Mass./Minnechaug Regional) earned an honor roll nod, as she had a team-high 10 kills versus Plattsburgh State University on Tuesday, and added six digs and a service ace against the College of Saint Rose on Saturday.
