COLCHESTER, Vt. - Saint Michael's College junior Tina Nardi (West Pawlet, Vt./Salem Central) was named the Northeast-10 Conference Field Hockey Goalkeeper of the Week, it was announced on Monday, while four other Purple Knights earned honor roll recognition.

Nardi stopped 11 shots in earning a pair of shutout victories last week. She had five saves to record her first career win, a 1-0 victory at Assumption College on Tuesday, and added six stops (all in the second half) in Saturday's 2-0 blanking of previously-undefeated Stonehill College. Saturday's contests marked the first-ever field hockey game on the College's newly-built Christopher Duffy Artificial Turf Field at Doc Jacobs Complex.

In cross country, seniors Paul Wagner (Woods Hole, Mass./Suffield Academy) and Kim Fahner (Westminster, Vt./Vermont Academy) were named to the weekly honor roll. Wagner turned in a second-place finish out of 82 runners at the season-opening Cardinal Classic, hosted by Plattsburgh University. Wagner ran the eight-kilometer course in 26:43, helping the Purple Knights place second out of seven schools. Wagner, meanwhile, led the Saint Michael's women with a 10th-place finish out of 51 runners, completing the six-kilometer layout in 26:07.

In volleyball, senior Jessica Mulroy (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) landed on the honor roll. She notched a team-high 28 assists in a season-opening 3-0 setback to Le Moyne College on Saturday at the Ross Sports Center, and added eight kills.

In field hockey, junior Ashley Webb (Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) received recognition. Webb assisted on the game-winner in Tuesday's win at Assumption, and scored the game-winning goal in Saturday's triumph versus Stonehill. She also anchored a Purple Knights' defense that allowed no goals and just 22 shots in the two games.
