 PURPLE KNIGHTS DROP SEASON OPENER TO LE MOYNE, 3-0

COLCHESTER, Vt. – Saint Michael's College (0-1, 0-1 NE-10) dropped its first match of the season, 3-0 (30-20, 30-25, 30-21) in three close games to Le Moyne College (7-2, 1-1 NE-10) on Saturday at the Ross Sports Center.

The Dolphins were led by freshman Jodi Smith (Angola, N.Y./Eden), who tallied 13 total kills, and junior Julie McLaud (Pine Bush, N.Y./Pine Bush) who recorded a match-high 38 assists. Amanda McClure (Painted Post, N.Y./Coming West) was the team leader with 17 digs.
          
For the Purple Knights, co-captain Jessica Mulroy (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) assisted on 28 points as fellow senior Kaitlyn Rae (
Willbraham, Mass./Minnechuag Reg.) contributed with 11 kills. Katie Ouellette (Hampton, N.H./Winnacunnet) had 25 digs, five blocks, and assisted on five others in the losing effort.
           
Saint Michael’s returns to action on Tuesday, as they travel to Plattsburgh State to take on the Cardinals at 1 p.m.
