NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Graduate student Kieron Jennings’ goal just minutes into the game from Michael Semedo became the game winner as Southern Connecticut defeated St. Michael’s College 5-0 on Saturday afternoon at Jess Dow Field.

The second goal of the game came at 28:06 from Senior Jordan Russolillo off a corner kick by Pedro Mouren.  Less than 5 minutes following Russolillo’s goal, Semedo connected for a goal of his own on an assist from Edwin Vasquez

During the second half of play, the Owls tallied two more goals.  Junior Darren Foster had a successful night with a goal and an assist for the Owls. Senior Ilias Calaitzidis also scored once for Southern.

Southern’s defense was led by goalkeepers David Faugno, with three saves, and Brendan Lawless, who came in off the bench for the Owls in the second half and made two key saves.

The Southern Men’s Soccer team will play next on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at St. Rose at 4:30 PM.
