SAINT MICHAEL'S SHUT OUT BY SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT, 3-0

Courtesy of Southern Connecticut Sports Information Phone: (802) 654-1500New Haven, Conn. – Senior Carlie McDermott’s goal at 23:02 proved to be the game-winner as Southern Connecticut shut out St. Michael’s College, 3-0, in a Northeast-10 Conference field hockey game Saturday afternoon at Jess Dow Field.
Mcdermott redirected a pass from freshman Whitney Martin past Purple Knights’ goalkeeper Tina Nardi, who finished the game with six saves.
In the second half, senior Cori Krajewski scored off of a corner with an assist from freshman Grace Martha and senior Lauren Tamborino closed out the scoring with 3:16 to play on an assist from senior Cathy Cardini.
Junior Casey Sanford made four saves to register the shutout for Southern, now 1-3 overall and 1-1 in the NE-10.
St. Michael’s record falls to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the NE-10.
