MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Saint Michael’s College men’s tennis team improved to 4-7 overall and 4-6 in the Northeast-10 Conference following a 7-2 victory over Southern New Hampshire University here today. SNHU dropped to 4-7 overall and closed out its league schedule at 4-7.

Sophomore Pedro DePaula (Rolandia, Brazil) posted a 3-6, 6-0, 6-0 victory over freshman Andy Samara (South Burlington, VT) at No. 1 singles for SNHU. Samara teamed up with sophomore Andrew Bolduc (South Burlington, VT) to defeat DePaula and junior Brian Hashem (Auburn, NH) 8-3 at first doubles. Bolduc posted a 1-6, 7-6 (8), 6-4 win over Hashem at No. 2 singles for Saint Michael’s. Freshman Luke Lombardi (Manchester, MA) posted a straight set win over sophomore Felix Sancho (Madrid, Spain) at No. 6 singles for the Purple Knights. Senior Josh Holt (Woodstock, VT) and freshman Torr Terranova (Madison, CT) also posted singles wins for the Purple Knights, while senior Chris Bui (Kraainem, Belgium) recorded a singles win for the Penmen.

SNHU returns to action Monday (4/18) when it hosts Lyndon State College in a non-league match at 4 p.m. Saint Michael’s travels to Merrimack College for a Northeast-10 conference match Sunday (4/17).
