For the Purple Knights, freshman Mark Agostinelli (Dedham, Mass./Xaverian) added three goals, while senior Mike Curley West Hartford, Conn./Conard) chipped in two goals and two assists. Junior Eric Libby (Cohasset, Mass./Cohasset) notched two goals and one assist, junior Brady Boyle (South Dennis, Mass./Kimball Union Academy) and freshman Mike Boerma (Concord, Mass./Lawrence Academy) both scored twice, and freshman Jeff Hannon (Wilbraham, Mass./Minnechaug Regional) stopped nine shots for Saint Michael’s (7-3, 5-3 NE-10).

Saint Michael’s took control early, scoring six unanswered goals in the first period. Kobelt tallied three of his five goals in the opening quarter, as the Purple Knights held Assumption to just three shots in the frame and scored a pair of man-up goals.

Following an evenly-played second quarter made the score 9-3 at halftime, Assumption pulled to within five on Donnelly’s man-up goal early in the third quarter. The Purple Knights, however, responded by scoring the next five goals to open up a double-digit lead and seal the victory.

Saint Michael’s plays its next two games on the road, beginning with Tuesday’s 4:30 p.m. contest at the University of Vermont, before hosting its regular-season finale versus league-rival Saint Anselm College on April 27 at 4 p.m. Assumption hosts Bryant University on Thursday at 4 p.m.
