Norwich took control early by scoring four runs in the top of the first inning, as Healy and sophomore Chris Pybus (North Andover, Mass.) had two-run singles in the frame. Following a Purple Knights’ run in the third, the Cadets scored three times in the fifth and five times in the sixth inning to open up a 12-1 lead.
Saint Michael’s trimmed its deficit to 12-5 with four runs in the bottom of the sixth, knocking Kinney out of the game.
