NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Second-ranked C.W. Post scored nine unanswered goals in the second half to break open a close game and defeat Saint Michael's College, 18-4, in women's lacrosse action on Sunday at Southern Connecticut State University.

C.W. Post (5-1) led at halftime, 9-4, but held the Purple Knights scoreless after intermission in winning its fifth straight contest.

For Saint Michael's (1-2), sophomore Megan Rule (Bow, N.H./Bow) and freshmen Brynne Curran (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth), Lila McCormick (Scituate, Mass./Scituate) and Amanda Soule (Hartland, Vt./Woodstock Union) scored goals, while sophomore Megan Lagasse (Newburyport, Mass./Governor Dummer Academy) earned an assist. Senior Jess Anderson (Springfield, Vt./Springfield) turned back 12 shots in the loss.

Saint Michael's returns to action on Thursday, as the Purple Knights play their home opener versus Northeast-10 Conference rival Southern New Hampshire University at 3:30 p.m. at Doc Jacobs Field.
