PURPLE KNIGHT MEN DROP 8-1 DECISION TO BENTLEY

Phone: (802) 654-2537COLCHESTER, Vt. – Bentley College swept all six singles matches and defeated Saint Michael’s College, 8-1, in men’s tennis action on Saturday in the Tarrant Recreational Center. Bentley improved to 4-7 overall and a perfect 4-0 in the Northeast-10 Conference, while Saint Michael’s fell to 1-5 (1-4 NE-10).
Bentley received a pair of victories from senior Colin Whooten (Norton, Mass.), sophomore Mike McCrillis (Kennebunkport, Maine) and freshman Patrick Schorno (Fishkill, N.Y.). For Saint Michael’s, sophomore Andrew Bolduc (South Burlington, Vt./South Burlington) and freshman Andy Samara (South Burlington, Vt./South Burlington) teamed for the Purple Knights’ lone win in No. 1 doubles.Saint Michael’s returns to action on Sunday, as the Purple Knights host league-rival Stonehill College at 1 p.m. Bentley hosts Assumption College on Sunday at 1 p.m.
