PURPLE KNIGHT MEN HOLD OFF PACE IN LACROSSE, 11-8

Phone: (802) 654-2537PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - Saint Michael's College scored the first six goals and held off Pace University, 11-8, in Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday at Pleasantville High School. The win snaps the Purple Knights' two game losing skid, and improves their record to 2-7 all-time versus the Setters.
For Saint Michael's (3-2, 1-2 NE-10), junior Brandon Kobelt (Rye, N.Y./Fordham Prep) led a balanced scoring attack with two goals and three assists, while senior Mike Curley (West Hartford, Conn./Conard) added two goals and one assist. Freshman Gregory Lazarus (Evanston, Ill./Evanston) also scored twice for the Purple Knights, while junior Eric Libby (Cohasset, Mass./Cohasset) and freshman Mark Agostinelli (Dedham, Mass./Xaverian) notched a goal and an assist apiece. Freshman Jeff Hannon (Wilbraham, Mass./Minnechaug Regional) stopped 10 shots as the visitors led, 10-2, before holding off Pace (2-4, 1-2).
Saint Michael's returns to action on Tuesday, as the Purple Knights play their home opener against league-rival American International College at 4 p.m. at Doc Jacobs Field.###PURPLEKNIGHTS###
