With the win, the Dolphins improved to 4-0 overall and in Northeast-10 Conference play. The Dolphins stretched their regular season Northeast-10 Conference winning streak to 54 games. The Purple Knights dropped to 2-2 overall, 0-2 in league play. Le Moyne jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first 4:38 of the contest on goals from Mike McDonald (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) and Bob Tulowiecki (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park). Saint Michael’s responded one minute later on a Mark Agostinelli (Dedham, Mass./Xaverian) goal to the margin to one at 2-1. However, the Dolphins would score the next six goals and took a 8-2 lead into halftime. The Dolphins scored the first eight goals after halftime to augment their lead to 14 at 16-2. Le Moyne’s defense held the Purple Knights scoreless over a stretch of 27 minutes and 30 seconds in building the lead. McDonald finished the game with three goals and an assist for the Dolphins. Brandon Spillett (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool), Jason Longo (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia), and Craig Rosecrans (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna) each netted two goals for Le Moyne. Goalkeeper Jared Corcoran (Concord, N.H./Concord) made five saves in 56 minutes and one second between the pipes in picking up the win. Agostinelli led Saint Michael’s with three goals and one assist. Brandon Kobelt (Rye, N.Y./Fordham Prep) scored the other two goals for the visitors.
