PURPLE KNIGHT MEN FALL TO GREEN MOUNTAIN, 6-3

Phone: (802) 654-2537COLCHESTER, Vt. – Green Mountain College won two doubles matches and four singles matches to best Saint Michael’s College, 6-3, in men’s tennis action on Tuesday in the Tarrant Recreational Center. Saint Michael’s falls to 1-4 in the 2004-05 season, with its previous four matches taking place last fall.
Earning straight-set victories for Saint Michael’s were freshman Andy Samara (South Burlington, Vt./South Burlington) at No. 2 singles, and classmate Luke Lombardi (Manchester, Mass./Manchester Essex Regional) at No. 6 singles. Senior Josh Holt (Woodstock, Vt./Woodstock Union) and junior Thomas Wu (Litchfield, Conn./Litchfield) earned the other Purple Knights’ win in No. 3 doubles.
Saint Michael’s returns to action on Tuesday, March 29, as the Purple Knights host in-state rival Lyndon State College in a 4:30 p.m. match
