Remarkable and Influential Athletes in Saint Michael's History

Richard Tarrant- Class of 1965

Tarrant is considered to be one of the best basketball talents to have ever graced the court at Saint Michaels.  He is the only First Team All-American in the school’s history, and his list of accolades does not stop there.  Tarrant was the Catholic Small College Player of the year in 1965, and was also a two-time Catholic College All-American.  He was named to the All-Tournament Team at the National Tournament in Evansville, Indiana, and was also named to the NCAA All-Regional Team.  During his career he set 13 college scoring records, and in 1965 Tarrant was selected in the fourth round by the Boston Celtics.  His #22 jersey has been retired from active use.
