Remarkable and Influential Athletes in Saint Michael's History

Richard Falkenbush- Class of 1967

Sports: Basketball, Golf

Nicknamed the “Falcon,” Falkenbush was one of the best basketball players in the school’s history.  During his time here he was a two-time All-State and All-East player.  In 1967 he helped lead the Purple Knights to the Division II title.  During the championship tournament he was named MVP and All-Tournament.  The “Falcon” holds five Saint Michael’s scoring records, finishing his career with 1,431 points.  In 1967 the Saint Louis Hawks selected him in the ninth round.  His #32 has been retired from active use.
