Remarkable and Influential Athletes in Saint Michael's History

Patricia Porter Deschaine- Class of 1989

Sports: Field Hockey, Swimming, Lacrosse

Deschaine was a remarkable athlete at Saint Michael’s competing in three different sports.  She was a standout lacrosse player who was team captain for two years, and is the second all-time leading scorer.  In 1988 Deschaine was a NFHCA First Team All-American.  That same year she helped lead the Purple Knights to their first-ever ECAC Championship.  Deschaine was also the captain of her swimming team, and was a member of a relay team that held four Saint Michael’s records.  She was also a two-time captain of the lacrosse team and still ranks on the all-time scorers list.  In 1989 she was given the Victor V. LeMieux '35 award which signifies loyalty and leadership in athletics.
